Here’s another not-art-or-craft post but something about me as an artist. A sort of Q & A, hoping somebody is interviewing me. I’ve been imagining that since when I was in grade school. But nobody did contact me.LOL… Yes I am kind of a fame whore but doesn’t want attention. Hahaha… isn’t it ironic and confusing? To let you know I am an introvert but inside me wanted to be the opposite.
I’ve already written a little background about me as an artist. You can read it at my About Page. But here’s more tidbits about me:
What are the 3 things that comes first in your mind that you think are necessities as an artist/crafter?
Pen, paper, and smart phone.
Pen and paper for my doodle, lettering practice, jotting down ideas, drafting and for brainstorming. Although I can do this all with my smart phone, I still love the the old ways. Smart phone is for taking pictures, browsing inspirations and getting connected.
What is your favorite social media?
Instagram. It is flooded with great artists and inspirations. I know you can find them at different social medias like Facebook. But I am visual, I’d rather browse photos right away than reading rants of friends on my Facebook account.
List four Instagrammer that captures your attention.
This one is hard. I can write more than four. But fine, four is four. LOL… I’ll do it according to the main four categories of this blog:
Letterer: @amandaarneill
Illustrator: @elle_willis (Portrait drawing)
Painter: @dollicandy
Crafter: @thesarahjohnson
I know there are thousands of them. Can I write more than four? Well it will only mean writing this post forever.
What are your inspirations? List three.
Nature, the challenge of crafting from scraps, and my environment in general.
What is your ideal job?
Stay at home, crafting all day and sell my products. Be the girl boss!
Do you have any sales already?
None. When I did the polymer clay, a lot of people were asking me if I’m selling it. But I am not confident with my products. I refused a lot of projects that I think will be a good start for business. I am my worst enemy – people believed in me but I don’t. I seek for perfection.
But now you are currently making a coloring page which you said you’ll be selling digitally. Did you finally break the wall that hinders your goal?
I guess yes. When I look at Etsy shop and other crafter’s market online, it made me realized that my creations are better than others. If they can sell why not me. That’s why I’m more inspired and committed to pursue my passion in arts and crafts now.
Tell me about your coloring page product. When will you release it?
It’s a 30-coloring page in floral theme with self-affirmations. The goal is to instill positivity in mind by practicing and claiming that you are a great person. I called this coloring page, “I Am: 30 Self-Affirmation Coloring Pages That Could Unleash the Power Within You”
It’s digital. They can download it in a very low price. They can reprint it and use it in any ways that they want to, except reselling or copying my work.
It will be available hopefully by July.
Writing this Q & A feels like I’m on TV show with Ellen interviewing me. hahahha.. I can imagine if it’s actual, I’ll be sweating all over and probably cannot speak a single word. Okay enough for my craziness. Have a good day y’all.
