Make your kid’s Christmas countdown more exciting with this cute mini houses Advent calendar. It is also a great Christmas ornament that you can add to your Christmas decor.

No time to draw? Or, no white pens to use? Don’t worry. I got your back!
These cute Advent Calendar Houses are now available on my Etsy shop. You only need a printer, a pair of scissors, and glue.

But if you like to draw and you have white pens then read and grab the free version below.
Although our family has a regular get-together on almost every occasion, Christmas is still a special day for all of us. I don’t know, but I feel like there’s a magic that this day brings in my heart, and I think many of us feel the same way.
That’s why, as early as September 1, we Filipinos start to decorate our houses, and you can already hear Christmas carols.
Crazy, right?
But the real countdown begins on the first day of December.
To make it more exciting for kids, I love the concept of the advent calendar.
What is an Advent Calendar?
Advent calendar is an extraordinary calendar used to countdown to December 25: The celebration of Jesus’s birth.
The calendar usually has 24 doors or boxes to open, one for every day in December leading up to Christmas Day. Each door or box reveals the story of the birth of Jesus. And to make it more exciting, goodies like candies and toys are added.

The advent calendar can be simple, or you can make a decorative one. You can purchase a ready-made advent calendar or DIY it.
There are so many ways to make your Advent calendar. And one of my favourites is boxes formed into little houses. Which I am so excited to share in this post. It is super easy, and I made a template for you.
And what I love about this DIY is that we recycled the card stock we used to collect from a restaurant. You know those portion jams/pancakes you see in the restaurants? The packaging comes with card stocks, and we have collected a lot of them over the years. An alternative is to use cereal boxes.
How to Make a Mini House Advent Calendar
Check the video tutorial or you can scroll down and read the written version of the tutorial.
Tools and Materials:
Card stocks
White pens – Signo Uniball, Uni Posca White, or Expo BrightSticks
Scissor or Cricut machine
Single Hole Puncher
Glue gun and stick glue
Strings
Goodies (candies, toys, and/or Bible verses about the story of the birth of Jesus)
(Optional) Driftwoods and evergreens
1. Trace the templates on the card stock and cut. You can also use the template on your Cricut machine.

2. Create a crease using a pointed object or a scorer. This will make the folding easier and achieve a crisp smooth fold.

3. Design the houses using a white pen.
I love the Expo BrightSticks or Uni Posca White pen because the intensity is better to compare to the Siglo UniBall Pen.

4. Fold and glue the side and the bottom part of the house.

5. Fill it with goodies. I also love the idea of adding the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
6. Put a number, or you can write the number directly on the houses. Tie it with a string.
You can arrange the houses on the table and adorn them with other ornaments. Then you can have a Christmas village advent calendar display.

Or you can hang it using driftwood and add evergreens to complete the look.

This little house is also great to use as a gift box. I’m pretty sure anyone would love to receive a gift in this cute packaging.
By the way, you might love to check this string star tutorial. It is our top DIY.

Hi Thank you for a lovely video. Is there another way that you can send me the house template as I am not able to download the WinZip app. I would love to make this Advent Calendar. Sorry for the inconvenience.
